Description
Sir Wilfrid Laurier (1841-1919), a Liberal, was Canada’s prime minister from 1896 to 1911. He was in power when Alberta became a province in 1905. Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park (originally Laurier Park) pre-dates Laurier Heights. The Laurier Heights neighbourhood incorporates most of the former subdivision of Buena Vista.
