Description
Chief Satoo of the Cree Nation was one of four brothers who were all chiefs between 1898 and 1922. The Cree word satoo is said to mean “jumping.” Satoo forms part of the former Papaschase Indian Reserve, as does most of the Mill Woods area. Reserve lands encompassed the area from around 30 Avenue to 51 Avenue and 17 Street to 119 Street.
